Specialized Training for Class-D External Loads

DRONE LONGLINE OPERATIONS TRAINING

This course focuses on longline operations with drones. Training covers regulatory compliance, paperwork, manual requirements, legal considerations, and risk awareness. Includes hands-on flight training and planning for VLOS, EVLOS, BVLOS operations, a detailed manual overview, and a record of training. Participants must bring their own drone. Offered in-person or hybrid, with training available from North Bay to Elliot Lake and negotiable beyond. Must be minimum of Advanced Pilot Certificated Before Enrolling.

  • This course covers the safe and effective use of RPAS with long-line external loads. Training includes regulations, human factors, weather, navigation, flight and radio operations, classroom evaluation, and progressive long-line field practice leading to a final evaluation.

  • Participants must hold at least a Transport Canada Advanced Pilot Certificate. A Level 1 Complex Pilot Certificate is strongly preferred to ensure readiness for the long-line and BVLOS components of the course.

    We provide service up to 1.5 hours outside of Sudbury at no additional cost. Locations beyond this radius can be arranged for an additional travel fee.

  • 1. Course Scope
    This course covers the safe and effective use of RPAS for long-line operations, from Advanced to Level 1 Complex certification levels. Training includes regulations and standards, long-line theory, human factors, meteorology, navigation, flight and radio operations (ROC-A if required), classroom evaluation, and progressive long-line field practice (day, twilight, and night), leading to a final field evaluation.

    2. Equipment
    Participants must bring their own compliant RPAS suitable for long-line operations. No training drones will be provided.

    3. Location and Delivery
    Courses are offered in-person or hybrid, with in-person training available in Sudbury, Greater Sudbury, North Bay, Blind River, Elliot Lake, Espanola, and Little Current (approximately 1.5 hours outside of Sudbury). Locations beyond this radius may be arranged for an additional travel fee.

    4. Fees and Payments
    The cost of the course is $4,000 CAD. Payment must be made in full by e-transfer prior to the start of the course.

    5. Certification
    Upon successful completion, participants will receive a record of training and a certificate of completion from DFR Solutions.

    6. Cancellations and Rescheduling
    Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled start date to receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours are non-refundable but may be rescheduled at DFR Solutions’ discretion.

    7. Client Responsibilities
    Participants are responsible for:

    • Holding at least a valid Advanced Pilot Certificate (Level 1 Complex is preferred).

    • Bringing their own compliant RPAS for training.

    • Following all safety instructions during classroom and field training.

    8. Liability
    DFR Solutions provides training and guidance to the best of its knowledge and expertise. DFR Solutions is not responsible for any accidents, damages, or incidents that occur during or after training.

    9. Confidentiality
    All personal information provided will be used solely for course administration purposes, and will not be disclosed to third parties except as required by law.
